Plot & SummaryEdit
The episode starts with Xephos and Honeydew trying to find the location of the Carnival in the Skyhold while Skylord Lysander distracts Skylord Vitali. Xephos notices an apple tree outside the entrance to the carnival area. Inside, Honeydew is unhappy to find Strongman Bruno (His "Nemesis") cleaning up snow with Mr Banjo. Xephos, meanwhile, notices Madame Nubescu underneath the platform, and quickly heads towards her tent. In the tent, however, he finds a book marked, 'Nubescu's dairy' with an entry saying, 'I killed dem Skylords good'. Traversing down Nubescu's ladder to the platforms below, Honeydew points out that they should not jump to conclusions as to Nubescu's guilt as they had done earlier with Lysander and the destruction of Mistral City. Unfortunately, upon arriving at her cauldron, the heroes notice that nearby Um Bongo is being held in a cage. The heroes bring up the diary and the cage to her. Nubescu denies both having a diary and putting Um Bongo in a cage, saying that she saw Vitali put him in there. They come to the conclusion that someone is trying to frame her, probably Vitali.
The heroes carefully build a bridge over to Um Bongo's cage. He cries for them to free him, but in their hurry Honeydew accidentally falls off the platform. Luckily, he falls in some water. Freeing Um Bongo, Xephos returns to the cauldron, which Honeydew has climbed up out of by travelling up the water coming from it. Um Bongo tells them that he was put in the cage by Vitali because he saw him by the apple tree, burying some bones. In his haste to leave with the heroes, Um Bongo tries to show them how good a jumper he is, but ends up falling from the platform as well. His fate is left uncertain, but Xephos expresses his opinion that it is not the last they have seen of him.
Returning to the upper platform, Honeydew once again runs into Strongman Bruno, who tells him that he is still spitting out leaves since Honeydew grew a tree on him. Honeydew tries to again, but picks the wrong spot. Leaving the carnival, the heroes meet Skylord Lysander, who is waiting to confront Vitali. Instead of confronting him in his house, the heroes dig under the apple tree, and find a trail of blood. Suddenly, the sky turns black. They descend into the small tunnel, and found the bodies of the other Skylords, accompanied with a macabre poem:
Skylord Vimes - I stuck a meathook in his back.
Skylord Horus - 'I snapped his spine with a mighty crack.
Skylord James - 'At morning light, our swords did clash; nothing left but bones and ash.
Skylord Finnigan - I popped his eyes and drank the goo, I took his blade and ran him through.
Noticing the blood trail continues down a hatch, the heroes descend, and come across a sleeping Vitali underneath two more hatches, with Vitali revealed to be a vampire. Lysander asks Vitali why he killed the other Skylords, and Vitali tells him that he did it for power. He speaks of how Israphel knows 'The true power' of the the Skyhold and that he offered Vitali a grand prize to deliver it. Honeydew hands Xephos a stake (really a stick), and Xephos (with some assistance) manages to kill Vitali, who drops some goggles, a strange record and a strange piece of paper, unnoticed by our heroes. Lysander, recognizing the record, tells the heroes that they must go to the Control Room immediately.
- "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON YOU CRAZY BROAD!"
- "Take me with you!"
