Let's Build is a series on Sjin's channel in which he creates a variety of buildings and structures in Minecraft. They are typically filmed in time-lapse form from the perspective of Sjin's alternate "cameraman" account Benjamin Disco, using the Camera Studio mod. This affords the viewer an expanded view of the project, as well as being able to see Sjin himself moving through the structure as he builds. Because the footage is sped up in post-production, Sjin narrates his builds afterwards. He has recently started livestreaming his builds, starting with Let's Build - Survival Games!
For the most part, the projects are undertaken in Creative mode, though Sjin has been known to do Survival builds on occasion also. External software like WorldEdit and World Painter aid the more difficult terraforming tasks. High-resolution texture packs and shaders are chosen to show off the builds, with Sjin even modifying block colours himself when required in order to get the perfect look. The main builds are constructed on a separate server to the Yogscast's main series servers.
Sjin's Let's Builds have often crossed over into other series, most notably Sjin's own series, Rule The World, in which he has switched over from playing to building a number of times in order to construct something relevant to the story, such as Eldraphyn's Tower, and his own castle. Let's Builds were also done for Crown Conquest, The Laughing Demon Tavern on Sjin's Farm and Candy Town from Cheat Police. He was even hired to build a prototype robot for YogLabs.
History
Over the years, Sjin has constructed a vast array of architectural wonders. The series ranges from villages and fortresses of Sjin's own imagination and design to iconic and instantly-recognisable builds such as The Disney Castle and the vast kingdoms of Dale and Erebor from Lord of the Rings. He has also designed PvP maps such as Facing Worlds and Battleships.
After upgrading to the Yogscast Complete pack, Sjin was able to incorporate blocks from the Carpenter and Chisel mods into his builds, as well as a variety of other modded items for extra decoration.
