Team Fortress 2 (commonly abbreviated as TF2) is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed by Valve Corporation. It is a sequel to the original mod Team Fortress based on the source engine. It was first released as part of the video game compilation The Orange Box on October 10, 2007 for Windows and the Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version then followed on November 22, 2007. The game was later released as a standalone package for Windows on April 9, 2008, and for Mac OS X two years later.
In-Yogiverse
The Yogscast initially played Team Fortress 2 to show people what it is, and Simon made a video on the Deus Ex Mannotechnology Promotion. The duo also starred in two Showmatches and posted them onto the BlueXephos channel.
Later, when the Mann vs. Machine (MvM) game mode came out, Rythian, Nilesy, Zoey, Ravs, VeteranHarry and Teep published a video on the update. Later, Lewis, Simon, Hannah, Duncan, Sjin and Martyn made three videos on the update as well.
Only Nilesy actively played and uploaded a series on this game regularly, posting 79 videos from 2012 to October 2, 2014. Nilesy also often livestreams TF2 on his Twitch TV page.
Phil from FyreUK also posted a short video featuring gameplay as a part of Phil's Game Night before they joined the Yogscast, as did DaveChaos who posted a livestream recording.
