What I've noticed in the years that the main Yogscast channel has been active is that there have been many, many changes, wich include good and bad changes. I wanted to go over a few and see what you guys think of it. Don't get it wrong, I love the Yogscast and will always be a loyal Yognaught, but I just wanted to talk about how the channel has changed. (These are my opinions, leave your opinions in the 'reply' section)
Negative changes,
Over the years there have been some changes that you could see as negative, some may see it as positive, I listed a few of these changes here:
1. Less crazy stuff
The Yogscast is well-known to do some really crazy stuff, I've noticed that the amount of crazy stuff has really decreases. In the past Simon would do things like destroying half of an adventure map if he couldn't figure out a puzzle, now they spend more time on a puzzle if they can't figure one out.
2. Less stuff with fans
A few years ago, the Yogscast had a public server where all their fans could hang out and have fun. They also sometimes played an online game with some of their fans. Now the server doesn't exist anymore (Probably becaus eit got griefed to death, but with the newest plug-ins it's possible to prevent that) and they don't really play games with their fans anymore. I know they have a busy life and don't really have time to play games with fans, but it would still be cool do be able to play Minecraft or another game with fellow Yognaughts.
3. Sometimes it feels like they're forced to play certain games
Back in the day, Simon and Lewis played new and random games, and played what they liked, now it sometimes feels that they're forced to do certain videos (like Voltz and YogCraft). Of course they enjoy playing it and have a few good laughs but still, their fans always demand that certain videos have to be produced.
4. Series that we miss/where left un-finished
Some series have been dropped or haven't been made in a very long time. Of course, Shadow of Israphel, but I don't want to start about that again, I think that that is just dealt with and that we know that it will be made at some point, we just need to be patient. I'm talking about series like 'Simon plays!' or the good old Mod reviews with Hannah, or even YogTrailers. I really hope they will make one of those videos again.
Positive changes,
Through the years, there also have been some really good changes like:
1. Better quality and longer videos
In the past the Yogscast's videos tended to be much shorter and have worse audio then they do now. The videos from back then were like 10 minutes each. Now almost every video is around the 20 minutes long.
2. Scheduled and continual series
In the past the Yogscast used to have some really short series wich only lasted a few episodes, and those were uploaded when they were ready. Now we have continual videos and they are scheduled for certain days, wich is much better.
3. More channels
In the past, the 'BlueXephos' channel was the only one. Then 'yogscast2' came, wich was mainly used for YogTrailers. When friends of Lewis and Simon started to become involved in the videos, and they saw how much feedback they got from Yognaughts, they made their own channels. The videos on these channels are the same good quality as those from the main channel. If you take a look at those channels now, you can see that tey have really much subscribers, with 2 of those already having reached the million subscribers and 2 other channels are creeping up to the million subscribers.
4. Projects and charity drives
The past 2 years the Yogscast has been doing Christmas charity drives. These drives are always very succesful and the yogscast tries their very best to make them even more succesful with special videos, livestreams, rewards and many other things. There is also a Yogscast game in production, called YogVentures, wich people have been working very hard on.
Well, I think that covers the most big changes over the last few years. I hope you enjoyed reading, show me your take on the changes in the reply section.
